Unique Materials Policy

It shall be the policy of the Taunton Public Library Board of Trustees that materials determined by the Director and Supervisor of Technical Services and/or the Supervisor of Reference to be out of print and have a current market demand value of $250.00 or greater will be pulled from the open shelves and will not be circulated outside the library by direct loan, interlibrary loan or virtual cataloging. The materials will be shelved in a locked area and all database records will reflect the new shelving location, the restricted use designation, and the highest current open market value. These materials may not be eligible for bindery if it is determined that rebinding/repair will compromise the their value.
