Taunton Public Library temporary permission for internet and personal computer use only Policy

For patrons not interested in obtaining a Taunton Public Library card for the purpose of borrowing books and materials from Taunton and other SAILS libraries but who wish only to use the Internet or personal computers may apply for temporary permission.

Patrons will be required to read and sign the Computer and Internet Use Registration : Acceptable use policy for computers and Internet policies. This will require filling out a registration form and providing identification.

Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian read and sign the form. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied at the computer station by a parent or guardian while using the personal computers and the Internet.

Two part forms noting the policies have been read and signed will be used; patrons will receive both the duplicate form and a temporary library card.

Any special circumstances similar to obtaining a permanent library card will be followed in obtaining a temporary computer card.

Applications will be kept on file for one year. After one year, the patron must re-register. This is unique only to the Taunton Public Library and cannot be used at other libraries or in place of a full SAILS card and all that it allows.
