Personal Alarm Policy
All staff members have been provided with one high decibel personal alarm. This alarm is to be used in the building for emergencies are defined as:
- 1. Physical attack upon yourself by another person.
- 2. Witnessing a physical attack upon another person.
- 3. Assistance for yourself due to extreme illness, injury, or impending physical attack, when you cannot physically leave the area, and immediate help is needed.
Alarms are not to leave the building. Alarms are the property of the library. It is up to each staff member to alert the director to any problems with the alarm unit. Batteries will be changed once a year and will be provided by the library. Staff will assume financial responsibility for lost alarms. Misuse of the unit or repeated loss will result in disciplinary action.
