You must live in Attleboro, Berkley, Bridgewater, Dighton, East Bridgewater, East Taunton, Easton, Foxboro, Halifax, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Mansfield, Middleboro, Norfolk, North Attleboro, Norton, Pembroke, Plainville, Plympton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Seekonk, South Attleboro, Taunton, West, Bridgewater, or Wrentham.

  • Patrons 18 years old or older must have a valid SAILS card to reserve a pass.
  • Should your local library close to the public or be decertified by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, you may no longer borrow passes.

PASS GUIDELINES

1. No reservations or detailed information will be given over the telephone. We have found telephone bookings and inquiries to be too confusing, resulting in misunderstood reservations.

2. Only one museum pass per day per family can be reserved except for the Mystic Aquarium and Seaport which are close to one another and can be comfortably visited in one day.

3. Due to the high demand for a limited number of passes, and in an effort to give all patrons a fair chance at these free and reduced admissions prices, reservations to the same museum will be limited to twice a month.

4. Passes are not eligible for checking out more than one day prior to reservation date.

5. All passes must be returned by 9:00 a.m. the next day unless you are directed otherwise. Failure to return your pass by 9:00 a.m. will result in an automatic fine of $5.00. Passes returned after 9:30 a.m. will result in a fine of $10.00. Total fines for passes returned more than one day late will not exceed $15.00. If you return the passes late three times, you will lose the right to borrow museum passes. Refusal to pay any fines will result in the automatic loss of museum pass privileges.

6. If you lose a museum pass, you will be charged $50.00 payable to the Friends of the Taunton Public Library. Refusal to pay this fine will result in the automatic loss of museum pass privileges.

7. After library hours, passes may be slipped under the front door. Do not put passes in the Book Drop.

8. If your plans have changed and you will not need your pass, please call to cancel your reservation. If your pass has not been picked up by 10:30 a.m. the day of your reservation, it will be automatically cancelled.

9. Please note that admission charges are determined by the museum. Not all passes allow free admission. Many passes allow only reduced admissions. Special exhibits or performances at museums may have a fee in addition to the admissions fee.

These passes are provided for you through the generous fundraising of the Friends of the Taunton Public Library. The passes are not funded through Library’s municipal or state budget. Please be a Friend and respect these guidelines.

Changes to the Museum Pass Policy effective May 20, 2004

1. Due to the high demand for a limited number of museum passes and in an effort to give all patrons an equitable chance at these free or reduced admissions prices, we ask that all patrons limit their reservations to twice a month at any one museum.

2. If available the Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport passes can be borrowed together. These museums are close by to one another and can be comfortably visited on the same day.
