The telefacsimile technology (fax) is a vital part of library service and the delivery of information.
The library will request fax documents for patrons from other libraries, in compliance with the standards and guidelines of the Boston Public Library and Southeastern Massachusetts Library System policies.
The turnaround time for faxed documents varies so patrons must allow plenty of time for delays. Fax requests must follow a proper citation format. Insufficient or improperly cited fax requests cannot be processed.
Upon request, patrons can be called to pick up their faxes; faxes can be mailed, faxed, and if possible e-mailed to patrons’ homes or businesses.
Patrons will be charged 15 cents per page received.
This is a library related service and the fax machine is not available for public use or to be used in faxing non-library material between patrons
